State tax uses 2026 brackets; nine states have none. Local and municipal taxes (New York City, Ohio and Pennsylvania cities, Maryland counties) are not included.
What each deduction is, and the 2026 sources
- Federal figures from the IRS (Rev. Proc. 2025-32 / Notice 2025-67), CRA, the Social Security Administration (FICA wage base), and the federal EI Commission.
- Provincial brackets via TaxTips.ca. Quebec brackets and the 16.5% federal abatement from the Ministère des Finances du Québec; QPP and QPIP rates from Revenu Québec / RQAP.
- US state brackets and standard deductions via the Tax Foundation (2026 state tables), cross-checked against each state's Department of Revenue.
Illustration only. Accuracy is not guaranteed. These are estimates using 2026 rates. The model simplifies or omits many credits, surtaxes, exemption phase-outs, and all local/municipal taxes (city, county), so your real take-home can differ. State standard deductions and exemptions are approximate. Not tax advice; verify with a tax professional. See the disclaimer.
