Armin Norouzi, PhD

I am a software engineer at Google, with a doctorate in engineering and machine learning from the University of Alberta. My first industry role was as a machine-learning engineer at Citco, a global fund services firm, which is where finance and code first collided for me. For years I watched the same pattern repeat. Brilliant colleagues who could design distributed systems and tune models without blinking would freeze the moment the problem was their own money. The gap was never intelligence. It was the absence of a framework. So I started treating personal finance like any other system, defining the constraints, modeling the dynamics, and letting the data, not hope, drive the decision.

This site is where that work lives. Every piece is a data-backed deep dive into money, markets, and financial freedom, built on public sources and checked against a primary document before it goes out, because a claim you cannot verify is not worth making. It is also the companion to my book, Debugging Your Personal Finance, which assembles the whole framework into one place.
