Freedom Price Calculator
Every purchase has two hidden price tags: the hours of your life it takes to earn, and the future freedom you give up by not investing it. This puts both on the receipt. Everything runs in your browser.
After-tax hourly ≈ your take-home pay ÷ ~2,080 work hours a year. Annual spending is used to translate money into "days of freedom": days your future portfolio could cover.
what this money becomes if invested instead, over time
How this works
Hours of your life: the price divided by your after-tax hourly pay, the real time cost, since that's the money you actually keep.
Invested instead: the same money grown at your expected return until retirement. A one-time cost compounds once; a subscription is a monthly stream that compounds as it's paid in.
Days of freedom: that future amount divided by your daily spending: how many days of your future life it could pay for. This is the real trade: a purchase today vs. days of not needing to work later.
